If you are looking for something to do in Atlanta in the fall, there is no better place than the Atlanta Botanical Gardens for the Scarecrow in the Garden Display. I went on a special event night that took place on a Thursday making it less crowed than a busy evening weekend. There is no extra charge for the special festivities featured. You can attend without a reservation and wearing masks outdoors is optional. The fee is regular admission fees, costing $22 per adult ticket and $19 per child ticket plus tax, bringing it close to about $45 to gain entry. The scavenger hunt consists of search for items pictured on a flyer handed out at the entrance when they scan your tickets. There is no prize or official ending, it is a simple fun activity for the kiddos to focus on. I would recommend they consider adding written clues, or a prize to the end like amini pumpkin to make it more fun (and given they have what looks like thousands of pumpkins all over the park, it would be a great little souvenir).

The special event night included beer carts, professional pumpkin carver, Lundy Cupp, live band, special food carts, a live pumpkin carving contest and dance off. We had the best time given it was a rainy evening making the crowd small, and giving us lots of space to wander. Whether a local or a visitor, this is a great family friendly outdoor activity.
