My 3 Favorite Energy Boosting Drinks

My forever goal of finding healthy drinks to get me away from coffee and diet soda has finally been reached. As much as we need water, even with fruit added, it can become dull day after day. For someone like me who craves variety, no matter how much I aim to stick to water only goals, it is just not feasible. With all the drinks laden with excessive sugar, fake sugars, lacking any significant amount of protein even if labeled as such, filled with fake dyes, and lacking in great flavor, I can easily walk in and out of store not finding anything I want. I have 3 Drinks that help keep me going without additives or caffeine.

1- KeVita- I love the tangy, slightly sweet taste bubbly concoction. Let’s face it, water day after day can get boring. I often crave something sweet like diet soda, but knowing how toxic it is to my body in addition to the migraines it causes, I have made a big effort to cut soda out of my diet. KeVita has quickly become my favorite health drink and diet soda replacement.   Here is why it is so great:

  • It is low calorie coming in at 50 calories or less per bottle in most varieties.
  • Low in sugar and no cancer-causing sweeteners.
  • Full day’s dose of your Vitamin C.
  • Apple cider vinegar which helps keep the acidity levels balanced in your body- Apple cider vinegar is known to have antioxidant and antibacterial qualities. It is also helpful when regulating blood sugar levels and sensitivity in the body. Personally, I have found that it helps keep things moving if you know what I mean. It has also curbed my appetite for sugary treats.
  • Added Probiotics to help build a healthy gut- Everyone knows a healthy gut helps keep your immunity strong.  However, what some may not be aware of is that your gut bacteria is tied to how your brain functions. There are millions of nerves and neurons that connect your brain to your gut. Neurotransmitters like GABA, dopamine, serotonin, and more, coming from our gut affect our moods and thinking. Imagine having more control over your energy and moods by simply altering your gut bacteria,
KeVita Tasting Great

2-SpinDrift- Most soda waters are just blah. They boast these great flavors then you end up taking a sip and then saying to yourself- “Liars, this tastes only slightly better than dirt!”  But not with SpinDrift…They should win an award for the best soda water on the market that stands tall above all the rest.  No matter how amazing the other brands flavor names sound like “tropical fruit heaven”, don’t be fooled by the tasty sounding names because you will be surely disappointed when comparing to SpinDrift.

My favorite flavors are the grapefruit, raspberry lime and blackberry.  The drinks tastes like the description and not like bitter soda water with a hint of an artificial flavor like most all other flavored soda water drinks on the market.  If you are not sold on the idea of soda water in itself, these reasons below will help show why it is worth giving it a shot:

  • It won’t destroy your blood sugar levels and contribute to diabetes.
  • It won’t cause those energy crashes or mood swings tied to high sugar or caffeinated drinks.
  • It won’t fill you with cancer causing chemicals from fake sugars.
  • It won’t put you at risk for head splitting migraines.
  • The bubbles replace your soda cravings.
  • The fruit replaces juice cravings.
  • The flavor replaces plain water.
  • It won’t dehydrate you like coffee and regular soda

3-Koia Protein Drink– If you are forever looking to find quick ways to get protein like me, then a grab and go drink is a must. As much as I love my Vitamix, it just does not fit in with my busy work week mornings. I tried with the protein and collagen mixes to make the Vitamix a part of my daily routine, but it just did not stick. To get my energy boost, I began replacing my planned smoothies with expensive migraine causing Starbucks drinks which was majorly affecting my health and wallet. With the typical Starbucks drink costing over $5 with zero nutritional value, it was like flushing my money and health down the toilet. My goal of finding a drink with high protein, not high in sugar, no fake cancer-causing sugar, and taste that doesn’t make me gag, was not easy. I have found perfection in the Koia drink.

Koia Yummy
  • There are not many drinks that provide a meal sized serving of 18 grams of protein.
  • At 200 calories, it is ideal for a filling snack or mini meal.
  • It contains fat to help fill you up at 7g.
  • Low sugar.
  • No artificial sweeteners.
  • Tons of flavors to choose from including chocolate brownie and chocolate banana.
  • At $3.99 it is more affordable than a Smoothie King or Starbucks, and if you pay attention, you can also get lucky and find a special sale to save money. Stocked at major markets like Whole Foods, Target, Publix and Sprouts makes it easy for most consumers to purchase.

Happy healthy drinking!
