I am always on the hunt for kid and family friendly activities, especially during the holidays. Ponce City Market is one of the best family friendly destinations in Atlanta, Georgia. Located in the city, the former Sears building is a historic site that has been converted to an extensive selection of restaurants, shopping and apartments. There is a unique and delicious collection of foods types with walk up or sit down restaurants offering everything from sushi, Indian street food, made from scratch donuts, fresh pizza, Mexican, cocktails, organic farm foods and more. From breakfast, lunch and dinner, there is something for everyone.
My munchkin and I visited Ponce City Market during Halloween weekend and this is what we found-there is a super cool roof top bar and game area that hosts an annual daytime (ticket based) Halloween event for kids to come in costume and get candy. If trick or treating is not your your thing or you simply want to do something different, this is the event for you and your family. It was busy (it’s Atlanta), so I recommend arriving early as the line for entry can get long.
If the Halloween candy hunt isn’t on the top of your list, enjoy a walk around the market like my son and I did trying different foods, and checking out the cool Halloween decorations. The only fee is for the parking ($2 per hour) with no entry fee into the building. Enjoy both indoor and outdoor seating for eating and people watching. Hops Chicken has the best meal on the go if biscuits and chicken are something you love. Grab a coffee, take a stroll and get ready to eat!
