Favorite On The Go Protein Drink
One food item I have deemed necessary for a healthy life is an easy to grab protein drink that both tastes good, and is good for you. Making a protein smoothie in the blender is not always convenient as an on the go mom simply trying to get out the door with my son. I have found some recipes I put together with protein powder mix and almond milk (without needing the blender), but many times I need something that requires zero prep for a grab and go option.
Finding a healthy drink that meets my criteria has not been easy- no fake sugars, is low in sugar, is caffeine free, has high protein, and tastes good all are a must. I finally found my dream protein drink and it is called-
KOIA
Ever notice how you look at the nutrition facts of a single item and think- this isn’t so bad, only to realize the sneaky company considers 1 bottle/item to be two servings which doubles those “not so bad” nutrition fact numbers…In addition to the requirements above, this bottle shows one serving and is low in calories. There is some fat which I prefer to have to help the drink be more filling. The carbs are low and fiber is high. Best of all, with 18 grams of protein in a bottle, you get a meals worth of protein in just one drink! Bonus benefits include non gmo, no soy and for those with issues tolerating dairy, dairy free as well. This drink works as a great substitute for morning coffee and costs less than an order at Starbucks. You can find this drink at Publix, Target and Sprouts Market.
Thanks! This seems like a great option for me on my long work days in EMS on the ambulance. Do you have a particular flavor you could recommend?
It would be perfect for long work shifts like you mentioned! The chocolate brownie is one of my favorites, but it does not have as much protein as the others (12g vs 18g). If you like cinnamon coffee drinks, the cinnamon horchata is a great replacement. Chocolate banana & coconut almond are my go to flavors and both have 18g of protein.
