Best of Netflix

You Don’t Want To Miss!

My 6 Favorites:

1-The Haunting of Hill House- The best modern day spooky story show that has come out.  An absolute must see if missed

2-Stranger Things- A truly original series with a wild story line similar to the style of Goonies, Gremlins, and Labyrinth.  It features how we navigate friendship, adults looking for love, and teens figuring out love. Part real life and part fantasy wrapped up with mystery and suspense, it is most definitely worth checking out

3-The Last Kingdom- One of the most well written and best performed period pieces.  Some might say a rival to Game of Thrones quality in the acting and writing

4-The Fall – One of the best shows starring two great male and female actors. It was high quality writing, a great storyline and unique look inside the mind of a serial killer (fictional)

5-Vikings- In a nutshell, a story about the Vikings discovery and raiding of England, but it is so much more when you dive into the characters and what they do. I discovered some of my favorite actors in this show- Travis Fimmel, Katheryn Winnick, and Gustaf Skarsgard. If you like Game of Thrones, then this will be one you definitely want to see

6-Orange is The New Black- I never thought a show about women in prison could be so entertaining, but this show was great every single season

Creepy Shows:

1-Mind Hunter- Intense subject matter showing the fictionalized story of how the F.B.I. first began to identify traits of serial killers. Season 1 was great. Season 2 the main character was annoying, but still definitely worthy of watching

2-You- How the great guy next door can actually be your worst nightmare showing you may never really know who someone truly is

3-Bates Hotel- The actors and writers killed it (no pun intended) in this version of the old classic.  I was hooked from episode 1

4-Dexter- This is an old series, but if you didn’t catch this murderer who only murders bad people, then you definitely need to check it out this time around

5-Safe- Thriller that will leave you guessing until the end. Do not miss

Super Powers:

1-Umbrella Academy- Great acting and action with an interesting storyline about superpowers and family secrets

2-Raising Dion- What happens when a kid discovers he has special super powers

3-The Society- How a group of teens behaves when suddenly all adults disappear and it becomes impossible to leave their town. Twilight zoneish combined with Lord of the Flies theme

4-Sense 8- Special powers bringing together strangers around the world. Only 2 seasons, but with the interesting story line, it was a fun ride while it lasted

5-Altered Carbon- Very cool future world with an insane story line about being able to live again in different human bodies using advance technology. The starring actor Joel Kinnaman is fantastic in this role

Cheesy Entertainment:

1-The Punisher- A very entertaining action packed show with an actor who is fun to watch. A total badass

2-The 100- Cheesy fast moving storyline about what would happen if the earth became uninhabitable. Lots of twists and turns with great action. It examines human nature and what a person would do to survive. Lots of fighting- (not for kids despite teens as the main characters)

3-The Colony- The story line is cool- what would be do if there was a forced alien collaboration in order to save the human species…? I am not a fan of characters who do dumb things that most people would not do- like going into the haunted house alone to see what the creepy sound is coming from.  It makes you want to shout- what the heck are you doing!? That is this mom in this show, I can’t stand the mom character, but the rest of the crew and story makes it a show to check out.

4-Travelers- Time travel- check. Science fiction- check. Minds getting taken over by time traveling future humans who are trying to rewrite history in order to save humanity. Lots of adventure and action to keep you hooked.

5-Good Girls- Fun to watch female main cast where everyday moms go bad. It is like reading a gossip magazine in the store line. You know it is b.s., but ya just want to keep reading anyways

6-Sabrina the Teenage Witch- Be prepared to grudgingly admit you like the show.  The main female actress annoys me, but fortunately with all the moving parts, plot turns and non-stop adventure, I can tolerate her in order to keep seeing what is next

New on Netflix:

1-Dracula- Creepy and entertaining all leading up to an awful final 3 minutes. You be the judge for yourself

2-The Witcher- The starring role going to Henry Cavill is what drew my attention, but I felt the other actors be just as good. I found it hard to follow, but none the less it proved to be the intriguing story I hoped it would be

3-Locke & key- A mix of fantasy and mystery portrayed in a storyline that captivates and hooks you from the start. Not suitable for kids

4-Good girls- new season

5-Sabrina The Teenage Witch- new season

6-Altered Carbon- new season
