5 Crime Podcasts to Listen to Now
Sword and Scale- My favorite crime podcast that is so eloquently put together combining real life police calls, detailed accounts from those involved and well scripted commentary from the host. Each episode features a new story and is roughly 1 hour in length. I have listened to every single episode including their premium membership “plus” episodes.
Forensic Files- If you need to break away from the screen, listening to Forensic Files with it’s straight forward, easily understood and straight to the point account of crimes, this is a must. Each episode features a new story and is roughly 20 minutes.
Dirty John- I stumbled across this story and was riveted within minutes. It features the story of one unstable man that will have you shouting to yourself- “get away from him!” as you listen. It is a quick and easy listen allowing you to follow along while you multi-task. This is one single story told on roughly 45-minute episodes.
Teacher’s Pet- This is a shocking missing person’s story from the 1980’s that goes through the story of a wife and mother who simply vanishes. Filled with many descriptive stories and details, this story is one you can really get into like a good book you can’t put down. The people involved might enrage you as you listen to their overwhelming negligence. This has quite a few episodes roughly 1 hour in length each.
Up and Vanished- This is a podcast that features one missing person’s case per season going in depth to help listeners really get into the chain of events. This is a longer podcast with multiple episodes vs the quicker story of “Dirty John” podcast.
Unlike some crime podcasts that have too much annoying conversation between multiple hosts back and forth, each of these podcasts focuses heavily on the victims and their stories showing more respect and attention to their hardships.
